The origin of Trompe L’oeil goes back to the Pharaonic age when they used to draw stars and skies on the walls and ceilings of the temples and tombs.
Rania Hamama, combines the talent, knowledge, professionalism and the track record of Mural painting and the creativity of Trompe L’oeil coupled with Interior Decoration. Being an artist and an interior decorator enables her to integrate any artwork and its existing surroundings.
She received her Bachelor of Arts in 1991 from Cairo, Egypt, specialized in Murals and Trompe L’oeil, taught Murals for undergraduate students for five years. She then complemented her knowledge by studying interior decoration.
As for the introduction of Trompe L’oeil into Egypt, at a certain time there were only one or two artists who had worked in the genre in the faculty, and in 1994, she was one of the first artists to commercialize it.
She participated in several exhibitions and art shows even before her graduation, then started her first business in 1994, doing hundreds of unique Murals and custom Trompe L’oeil projects since then for both residential and commercial sites around the globe. The diversity of projects and clients that she worked for enables her to fully understand and translate imagination into reality.
She believes that adding the touch of even a simple faux finish or a complex large mural or Trompe L’oeil can add the flavor and life to a space even when it is extremely well designed architecturally. Coupled with her interior decoration knowledge and experience she can integrate reality within her paintings.
